Current Vacancies

Automotive Engineer

Meridian Audio Ltd. have a vacancy for an automotive engineer to join our automotive team and support the development of high-end automotive audio systems. This will include support throughout the development process, from design of the systems through to the tuning of them. We are looking for someone with a good degree or equivalent experience in engineering, acoustics, computer science, physics or mathematics, plus 2-3 years of industry experience, preferably in an audio-related field.


Experience in any of the following areas is preferred:

  • Critical listening
  • Acoustics
  • Electroacoustics
  • Audio signal processing
  • Acoustic measurements (Prism dScope, Audio Precision, SMAART etc.)
  • Psychoacoustics
  • MATLAB

 

Additionally, experience in any of the following areas will be advantageous:

  • Automotive Acoustics
  • COMSOL Multiphysics
  • Transducer and Loudspeaker Evaluation (T/S and Enclosure)
  • C/C++ and Python programming
  • Acoustic simulation (lumped element, finite element method, boundary element method etc.) 

 

Candidates must be able to demonstrate the following skills:

  • Teamwork – you will be working alongside several other engineers across the engineering department
  • Personable and outgoing personality – you will be interacting with marketing. engineering and commercial teams both internally and externally with automotive partners
  • Meridian has several automotive partners all over the world
    - a willingness and flexibility to travel involving considerable amounts within the UK and overseas is essential
    - a willingness to work outside of normal office hours, when required
  • A passion for music and listening (playing of musical instrument is desirable)
  • Creative and innovative problem solving
  • High degree of self-motivation with good time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear explanations and documentation
  • Ability to thrive within a business with demanding clients
  • Able to quickly adapt to using new technologies
